Say "Baby!"

We found out we were expanding our family a few days before Mother's Day so it seemed fitting to share with our families on that day. D and I tossed around a few ideas of how to share the news but finally settled on a photo reveal. Despite having forgot our tripod and running back and forth to use the trusty timer, we managed to get a few shots that led up to the big reveal. Pretend you don't already know the news, and experience it like our families did.

The New Newest Member of Our Family

I really meant to introduce the newest member of our family a few weeks ago, but time and life slipped by. In fact, I have had a hard time staying motivated to blog lately, but more on that later.

Living out in the country proves to be quite a jungle. In one day alone we experienced tree frogs,

and snakes to which I have no picture. You can thank me later for that one.

And we found this creature swimming in our pool. Meet Ella, our new red ear slider turtle.

Gavin aptly named her. I think he was going through an elephant stage at the time. He loves his turtle and will wave good morning and good night to her very enthusiastically.

And while Ella was our new member of the family, meet our even newest member...

This little grain of rice who we are simply excited about will be embraced early January. This newest member is the reason behind my lack of energy to blog lately, but that's okay, getting a little extra rest is much more important. And, I think Gavin may like the baby just a tad bit more than the turtle right now. This weekend, I'll try to post pictures of the sweet way we shared the news with our families on Mother's Day.

Super Gavin!

This here is Super Gavin! Fights fevers, battles runny noses, smiles despite a sore throat and runs fast with the help of his trusty cape. It's hard to keep this superhero down.

Let's hope his infection goes away as quickly as he flies.

Happy Mother's Day

Today's plans of dressing up and going to church this morning didn't quite happen because I have a sweet little boy who is not feeling well. Poor baby is getting big enough to tell me his throat hurts and he coughed all night long. And I am perfectly happy to snuggle (try to if he gets still enough) and play choo choo trains. I am so blessed to be a mother to Gavin and thankful for the moms and grandmothers in my life who have given us such a godly heritage. Happy Mother's Day!
