A Case of the Mundane

Update*** I do feel better now. We went and bought some plants that I plan on putting in the ground tomorrow. Working with the dirt always makes me feel better. I almost didn't post this blog, but hey, what's a blog without sharing the good and the bad.***

I don't feel right. It seems like there is a cloud hanging over my head and I think I've figured out what it is. I'm suffering from a case of the mundane.

Every day it seems like it's the same thing. Wake up, walk over toys, promise to put them up when I get home, go to work, come home, cook dinner, pick up half the toys, and go to bed.

I probably feel more like this tonight because I don't have exercise to kick those endorphins in gear. But even that is frustrating. I've really been dedicated to going to Boot Camp and trying to eat right, but those last ten pounds of baby weight just don't want to budge.

I'm trying to find the positive; trying to be in the Word; trying to get outside more so I don't feel cooped up; and trying to remind myself that this season of sacrifice will pay off one day.

I'm hoping to listen to last week's sermon on fear, but my CD player has decided to eat all of my CD's. Fear of the future is probably the darkest part of the cloud that is hanging around.

Tomorrow is a new day. We have a fun family outing planned and then we get to see some of our old friends on Sunday. Does anyone have an umbrella in case the cloud brings a downpour?

  1. (It's Dani) Try and go off your diet for just a few days. Sometimes you need to trick your body. And make sure you are eating enough calories. You should never dip under 1200 or your body goes into starvation mode and won't drop any weight. Other than that maybe kick up the cardio? I'm so proud of you!

  2. I get what you mean. I't is so difficult to work out when you have a full time job AND a toddler. It's hard to work out just with a toddler! But you look great! You are awesome for having that dedication for the boot camp....I'm a wimp:)
Oh and I was going to ask you....where did you get that awesome vest Gavin was wearing in those pro pics you guys had done? I want one for Jackson for some weddings over the summer and can't find one.

  3. Thanks Dani for the encouragement. I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myself. I have actually lost seven pounds since the beginning of the year. Hopefully when school's out, there will be more time to do increase the cardio.

  4. Amanda- I wish I could tell you where Gavin's vest came from, but he got it from Dave's grandparents or his first birthday. It came as a pant, shirt and tie set. I have a feeling they may have gotten it from Dillard's or Foley's. I'd let you borrow it but it's a size twelve months. I'll let you know if I happen to see another one.

  5. Thanks! And a "way to go!" on losing 7 pounds!! Good job! I am a prime example of how difficult it is to work out while in school. I have only worked out one month since August and it was January when I was between Internship and my sub job:(
